Looking Back
Over the past year, Scout has matured at an amazing rate. I remember one time when we had a guest over for dinner she treated them without any respect. She had no problem makin' fun of people and fightin' with people. She has come such a long way. She even asks me sometimes if I need help with stuff around the house. I am very proud of my girl.
Boo to the Rescue
The kids, Scout and Jem, were attacked tonight. Boo Radley who hasn't been seen since forever showed up. I thank the lord he appeared cause' if he didn't i dont know what would have happened. He really save the life of Jem. All the rumors about him just are not the truth. He's a good man.
Dead
Tom Robinson has been killed. Shot to be exact. Why couldn't he just wait for the appeal? Maybe he would have been found innocent. Maybe he could have been a free man again. Now, for no reason at all, an African American man is dead and no one seems to really care. If he was white, it would be all different.

A Tasteful Thank You
To thank Atticus for his hard work and great attempt to have Tom Robinson found innocent, a great deal of food was left for him this morning. The food was left by grateful African Americans. The kind gesture was also delicious. I haven't eaten anything so good in a long time.
Bad News
The racist jury found Tom Robinson guilty. He did not deserve that. Anyone could see he didn't do it. Mayella was lying through those teeth of hers. If he was white he'd probably be free. It is sad that it has to be that way. Why do African Americans have to be treated like this?
A Difficult Decision
Scout wanted to know what rape was. I didn't think she should know. She's only a child. I decided that the right and only thing to do was place the decision onto Atticus. If i was him I'd tell a white lie, but he is their father.
Scout? Jem?
Those kids really scared me. When I couldn't find them I got really nervous. I spent a while lookin everywhere and then I knew I should go get Atticus and let him know what was going on. When I found him at the court I finally spotted the kids. They were with the negros. They had no idea how worried they got me. At least they were fine.
